Can you teach an old hound dog new tricks?
Will Elvis Presley finally edge out the Beatles for the most No. 1 hits in the United Kingdom? The record is currently tied at Elvis 17, Beatles 17. May this finally put to rest the long-standing dispute, "Elvis or The Beatles?"

A dance remix of A Little Less Conversation by Amsterdam-based DJ and producer JXL, which includes a minute-long electronic introduction, new rhythms and beats, dance loops and techno tracks, is expected to top the British charts this week. The remix, which was created for a Nike commercial, and approved by Elvis' estate, for the 2002 World Cup soccer tournament, sold 67,000 copies on its first day, which is more than last week's No. 1 song sold during the entire week prior. The single is also expected to hit No. 1 in the US with a scheduled release date of June 25.

Elvis' movies, and their accompanying soundtracks, are a source of much debate concerning artistic integrity, but a high percentage of The Beatles' movies should also spark such debates. For better or for worse, Elvis' foray onto the silver screen and subsequent departure 33 films later (including 2 documentaries) marked two major turning points in his career.

The original version of A Little Less Conversation peaked at No. 69 on the US singles charts in 1968 and never charted in the UK.
