Dee Dee left the Ramones in 1989 shortly after launching his solo career as Dee Dee King.
This is the first track from his first full length album "Standing in the Spotlight."
I had this album for many months before I listened to it. Having already heard his first Dee Dee King 12"- single release of Funky Man, I was in no hurry to venture into the new musical stylings of Dee Dee King.
The album itself is a well-balanced mix of Ramones-style rock songs, ballads and Dee Dee's unique interpretation of Hip Hop.
In the end I'm glad I bought it and eventually got the vinyl sleeve signed by the Funky Man himself. He even gave me a little smile at the autograph signing, at which the Ramones were notorious for appearing disinterested.
